The video was directed by Patrick Daughters (who also worked on the video for Feist's "1234", in all its lue-lame-jumpsuit glory) and Winnipeg artist Marcel Dzama.
Marcel Dzama is a favourite of mine: I love his bizarre drawings that straddle fairytales and nightmares. This video really brings Marcel Dzama's artwork brought to life (and, um, death).
This video's edging towards the darker side of Dzama's work - where there are fewer schoolgirls walking hand-in-hand with bears and men with tree trunk heads playing the upright bass - and more death, destruction and dismemberment...
