handy hemming trick

Thursday, January 18, 2007

This little trick is genius! Put a string up in a doorway at your desired hemline, dust it with chalk or talcum powder, then step on up wearing the article of clothing to be hemmed. Now if there was only a trick to make hemming pants easier. Man, I hate hemming pants.

Also sewing-related, I'm working up my courage to try something from this lovely book.

This is a great idea. Cant tell you how many times I had to get my sister or mom to get down on the floor and pin hems.
