The Vancouver Farmers Markets 'Holiday Market' at Heritage Hall is being held on Dec 13 & 14. Same weekend as Portobello but worth checking out. Lots of great local artists along with farmers, food producers (just in case mom hasn't sent down your care package by then), fishermen and cheese producers (yum!)
The market runs 10am - 5pm both days. Admission is $2 and the website is http://www.eatlocal.org/holidaymarket.html

3H Craftworks at 2208 west 4th Ave. Has an open house the month of December. All crafts are hand made by local artisans with disabilities. they are a non-profit art therapy program. going 42 years! They have beautiful felt,beaded decorations, childrens toys, kitchen ware and all kinds of unique handmade gifts for the holidays. A huge selection of sockmonkeys! and hot apple cider!

You’re invited to the International Village Gifts & Craft Fair from September 19-20, 2009 12:00 noon to 5:00pm! The purpose of the event is to showcase local, multicultural artists with hand-made and original work. There will also be a workshop on stage where artists are invited to share some secrets of how their work is produced, with live demonstrations. It will be an indoor event with ample parking.
