I've always wanted to be able to peel an orange in one long piece. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't - but what a beautiful, spirally thing I have when I manage it. But some go further than a spiral. Some people make things out of their orange peels. Jeux d'oranges has a load of them... one of my faves is above. (Sorry, this page is only in French!)

Damn! Wish I had half the orange peeling power of the French. Wait . . . I'm half French-Canadian . . . does that mean I might have what it takes to be an art nouveau orange peeler? And by extension, does that make me a kitchen gadget?
