The Gauntlet of Awesomosity has been thrown down, and I am ready to... um, act? Pick it up? What's the traditional response when a gauntlet is thrown down? (What does a gauntlet look like, anyway? Is it actually an object, or is it all metaphorical?)

Costume Idea #4: You can be a Lego Minifigurine! Lawrence has posted a detailed account of his first attempt at building a Lego man's head out of styrofoam. (Although I can't imagine that it would be very easy to see or breathe in there. Why not use a softer foam? Styrofoam would be hot, too.) There are comments at the bottom and his suggestions for people who want to try this themselves - overall, a great tutorial and a great costume idea.
