vancouver events: ruby dogs and drift

Two fun things on Main Street Vancouver this weekend...

1. In case you missed the one this summer, Leanne of Ruby Dog's Art House is throwing another garage sale this weekend. Sounds like its gonnna be a big one, too.

Sunday, October 5th, 2008
In the rear of the old Ruby Dog store: 4738 Main Street at 30th Avenue (enter from either 30th or 32nd).

12:00 to 3:00 - prices as marked
3:10 to 4:00 - everything is half price
4:10 to 5:00 - everything is free. Take it away!

2. The Drift!

The Drift is an annual weekend local arts & culture festival taking place along Vancouver's trendy Main Street in artists' open studios and participating local shops, cafes and restaurants.

Drift along Main Street and see an eclectic variety of fine art and original handcrafts from established and emerging local artists including ceramics, painting, sculpture, photography, woodcarvings, collage, mixed media, glass works, jewelry, film, clothing design, textiles & multi-media compositions.

Check out the list of events, shows and participating shops.

He he. I ended up come back extra early from the Sunshine Coast this morning and I made to the Ruby Dog sale. Did you go?

Rachael - that's awesome! What did you get? I hope the Sunshine Coast was sunny and the photos went well.

I went, too. I got a some wooden letterpress letters (as a present), a 1970s book on how to macrame, and two white, flat plastic horse heads (maybe ex-1980s brooches?).
